You only let me have one. That's why I'm taking three. Okay, and you can decide. So there are three coins books now, your readers, your readers, your listeners. We realized that you're sitting in my library on It's Amazing life. Well, every every wall apart from one has. But even so, everyone's got books on Corey books, mainly on his piles on the floor, running out space. My wife hates this because there's too much. Anyway, in this room, there are three books, which would mean the world to me and I could I could reach out and pull each one to show Island if he needs proof. So the three books that had massive significance on me wall 1st 1 is Tintin. Keep what receptor has given that book in 1969 when I was six years old and it was given to me by a client of my mom's memory. Used to do hope to mature ladies, one of her clients was this lovely of lady who I didn't really. I know why she had a number tattooed on her arm, but she did, and I was always puzzled by this. But one day to keep me quiet, she gave me a book to read and it waas Tim thinking or to accept wish I still have to this day. Uh, now, the great thing about that is that I couldn't read it. Um, on dhe story made up to go to the pictures years later when I could read and I read it, I was mortified because my story was much better. Anyway, that huge significance the other one is just over here to my right, which is a Giles annual from 1975. I would have come out in 74 when I was when I was 11 years. No, 13 years old on that was given to you on my sister. I should get to our mom, but when we're just waiting for my sister. So that had a lot of importance to me. My final book is the Beano Annual from the same year. Oddly enough, now the waiting What that is, I actually I actually bought it with my own money, so I saved up for my bus fare. So the school it's to go to school, he said to go by bus and sorry, started walking to school in keeping the bus fare until I could afford to spend the 60 pay it cost by the end. Now, every they're going into Smith's breed it. So by the time I have enough money to buy the book, I knew that book back to back to front. I know I still got it on the shelf behind me, and those three books had a profound impact on me. A zoo as well. Is he a small boy and hasn't it? I always think that 11 I always think that's 12 for this. But when the Germans planted, I was about that age when I got kicked out my local newsagent for reading the comics. We're gonna move on to your favorite graphic novel. What? What about my favorite issue? So we'll do that. Sometimes. Mix up the yard today. That's fake. It put on the spaceship days writing scripts. But let's go back and start with your favorite single issue. You're gonna right. So this gave me problems because s O. I love comics my whole life. Okay, I don't remember a point in my life when I wasn't obsessed with comics during them reading them. I've always loved comics, but I don't. I found I spent ages thinking about this one because it was it was almost like, What's your favorite single issue? If you look at if you look at this room, this library, every crime book I have is different every I don't know one thing rather not marvel. I'm not d c. Boy. I'm not an image boy. I just like comics. I love him as a medium I find fascinating, so I don't really have I don't really have any one particular comic that you know, That's my favorite issue. Signature. I don't expect to have a single favour issue of comics like What's your favorite child? I season? But what's your favorite film? Many Children. I have to. I recently rated them in terms of In terms of preference. Cat came higher. I'd just say, Yeah, um, they're old enough to know that something is no longer a problem for them. But when they were little, I want to talk. I want to take my at once I got my daughter into the into into the front room. Isolate, don't Don't tell your brother I should But you're my favorite. And she said, What? Really? Yeah, thanks, Dynasty, but don't tell you really upset because I went. I went a promise, and when she's gone and weighted down. So I stopped the backs of my son. Sit back. Coming. Don't tell you his sister, I said, But you're my favorite. And you know what? I'm your favorite doctor, the assistant. Wow, Thanks. That's that's That's fine. Don't worry about it. And then I saw you did. I left him to it. And then that week later they both came into the front room and said, We want a word with us. And what's matter? They should. You told us that were your favorites. You know, we can't both be afraid. You Which one of your favorites And I'm my favor. I couldn't catch you, too. That's good Parenting. Yes, I think so. That's that's why I got that. That mug. Yeah, it's best in the world. And then you give that to the best of the way. They wouldn't get to anybody. No, no, I've got it. Listen, this has got a mother says best in the world. Yours is a That's a fake milk that's a fake monkey for living is like this big news anywhere. My faith issue so long along a lot of four about this. And in the end, I've actually stumped. I don't actually have never actually read this original comic, but I read it when it was reprinted by Marvel UK Back in the day, I thought it would be mighty marvel of marvels living. Yep. The original black might. Yeah. So it basically it's issue for of the Incredible Hulk. And it's the one where he fights among a zit mongo. Yeah, things manga ae just just cracking my marble. Most woods Volume eight, Great collection. She's a great collection. I think you've got one as well. But when we work tomorrow Okay. So this is This is when he graduated from Spain from outer space. The Hulk. And he means yet Mongu It was amazing creature, and I remember as a kid reading it and that this this image is from this comet which which still resonate the bit with the wheel lands in Central Park. I thought that was amazing in the spaceship design by Jack Kirby. Just believe my mind. Don't Just then when he first appears, I was like, Oh, wow, you know, it turns out that he's No, he's not this giant creatures. Actually, she is sitting inside the Russian. That's right. No, that's fantastic. So that that would have to say, is a comic that definitely resonates with me. But whether it's whether it's my favorite of all times, I don't think I can in all honesty. So I remember Mikey Wilder marble coming out. I was six and no one around the house with the green skinned monster transfer on the T shirts. For years, I didn't I see. That's the way I think. I was never interested in Paris. I remember reading to me Dracula on and Mark the Weather for night. Nice The way off yet level by night and also Frankenstein's. I remember those and I loved us because they were horror. Did you ever see the tales of Terror reprints the magazine reprints at about 77 78. Now a British company reprinted all the marble Hello magazine for the first time. I came across off the adult version of Morbius. Um, things like that you see in the trailer. Oh, my God, It's like it's desperate 10 that they never made a comment move before. It's making you want. I think Felix should do a Mobius film just to mess with them. What's names had, uh, What? Gerrard letter? Yeah, no joke. But that's great. Let's take with you. Yeah, I think so. I mean, it's Jack Kirby. Early hoax stuff appears. Want me? I was always I was always to me. There was another hawk story I love which is her trip. Yeah. So there's a story remember? As a kid, and it blew my time. Mine actually picks up actually picked up a mighty Marvel comic reaping what if head It was called and it was the second part of it, which is where he goes the bottom of the ocean and gets made a slave. Always people who live in the detonation giant submarine and they've all beans squatted by the immense pressure, and he helps them with a rebellion. Then they will want to live on the surface. They will go to the surface, and their leader tries to tell Miss Avery ballad a believer in discipline. And so the old gal in the land and one on the explosion. I thought I was absolutely brilliant, just loving the whole community is fighting the army, and he could yourself tell the time world to May. I thought that being amazing thing to do and I have been reading is Immortal Hawke, by which I think is amazing. I really like it, but it I have to say, I do find that I just read the one where he's Bean Bean Elise. Parts of in jars. Yep, as incredible as really grim. It's a whole comic is absolutely over. I think I think is very, very entertaining. I was thinking, God, I do with the whole If I got the chance to write what I do the whole and I just like this minus this might just start wandering around, getting into fights, ripping up Tom. Yeah, I love, but I like him. I like simplicity, Michael. So I looked a pitcher, David ever under great pack stuff. Well, planet hold Kamil drill hole. Oh, yeah, there's actually actually she got them somewhere. Yeah, I thought I thought Planet Hollywood fantasy, that sort of. Yeah, but that that must be years ago now. Yeah, but 10 years. It's incredible. Every 10 years, they'll be really good. Well, over shoes on the Incredible Hulk on every 50 is a good one on DC comics. So back to the spaceship, actually loading up What's your specialty is if they deserve lots, it's gonna be an old fashioned 19 fifties room bomb like ticket. Only it's gonna rivets is it riveted its river to just anyone you love. A silver spacesuit. I don't mind civil space suits, but really spaceships and band. It's up to you where you go. Is it okay? Can I get to Venus or Uranus? You could lto told me to leave the room. She's guilty. Well, maybe Jaime. Yes. Okay. So as we're packing stuff up, you're gonna be I take just one graphic novel with you. Yeah. Yeah, it's good. I mean, this is yet another one I've been thinking about Watchman's one that one of those graphic novels that I've read and reread so many times not to take it would be churlish. Yeah, I have to take I mean, you know, I love it would be That would be friend better. But I think I think of the two as much. I love the finesse, my dear. I think it's I think it's amazing what one saw off. I don't know. I don't know what's going on. What's much I just love I mean, just just That's right. I prefer marble month. Yeah, I love them both. You made me pick a tree, Mom. I think be told something about Marvel. Mom. Just really? I think that era alum Ore he was so Oh, yeah, just just incredible the other Jesus. Yeah, that's one thing. You just did it already. Stuff. I remember being blown away by the only swampthings. Yeah, I've got one of their reading them again. I'm flipping them as a dealer when he came out, which was good. Now we're gonna get some original artwork on, though. Ok, well, now I've got I've got something really funny, so I don't have a great deal. Original artwork. Uh, the only there any great piece I want had. I've got a few bits, but they're nothing fancy. Did the best piece I ever had was an Allen Davis Wolverine. Have you still got up now? Because we all know what Page Paul really gives you. A gland in Simon Jones was beautiful, but there was a point in my life where I had literally no money on dhe. I had Thio sell something on those on my page. This is a great thing I thought was funny. It was lust pull me regain marble. You can't gave farmers page wolfing. And we all seem to take a page of the Wolverine story. That kind of reflected I had space at the time I took you really violent page race fighting. It was the Ellen Davis story. Where is fighting them? Snowman? Snowman? Oh yeah. Sasquatch is not suspect. Choose a bottle of snowmen yet? It's yeti. That's right. That's the word we're looking for. And they always explode. Do they were they were exploding fire. I remember. I had a page, a full body shot. Wolverine. It was very nice. I just you know, but so what I do have Why do you have it? And if I If I turn around now in my check, I'm gonna reach reach for one of my annuals And I'm reaching four The power annual days reaching for I've well, my, my, my After Samuel. Which one am I reaching for? Depends if it's not in 71. Yes, it is. Yeah. Well, I want something which is gonna make you so just I've always wanted to write their characters that were created by the Adams Press for the annuals. British collector? Yes. Or what I've got here. I've got the 1971 Power annual, As as Alan says from the bottoms print. So this is Ottomans book. So this was I think this is their attempt to do pretty superheroes. And so this or character we have in it we got things like aka Revenge, A crime buster of the seas on all stag road of the deep electro super Security agents. We got Magno man of magnetism. We got checked, Blair 102 100 we have marksman master of all weapons. Now it just so happens that if you look at Markson, master of all weapons, it's a wonderful story. They were beautiful. Okay, see, how's in pigs actually pretty in pink. But I should have only recent work. Well, have the whole strip all 1234567 pages joining black and blue. But for the book, they changed the pink. So my my favorite piece of original artwork would be the opening page. Who drew them? Have no idea. How did you get it? I was I was gifted it. Yeah, which is very nice on the reason behind it was this that the person who had it said they have no intrinsic value on that. He couldn't think of a nicer place to go because he knew I'd never sell it. Because actually, it's crazy things when we're talking to him. And we mentioned that book and show you show me. It was like, Wow, amazing Lichens are Yes. Please. That is amazing. that I bought that book is someone bought it for me as a Christmas present when I was about four years old. Really? That's fantastic. Annual in the same. The first time I came across Marvel characters in the fantastic on you. My copy. Still ours from drummed out really? Before he died as well. So you've got We've got your artwork. Yes, but about covers. If you have a bomb, it could be any cover any time. And you get the original artwork for the cover. Even if it's been destroyed, we're gonna get it right. I don't I don't have an answer for you because it's like like I sort of said that I love covers. I mean, on a few couples that have inspired, you know, I don't know. I mean, like, I don't know. I suppose 2000 d covers, I suppose. I suppose I would tell I'd love until I absolutely love to have I would love to have the markup pages or the cover for the first issue. 2000 day. Yeah, I think that would be lovely, because I can remember the massive impact that had on my life. You know, when that when that comet came out in 77 May the 25th was it not sure? No, that's a slight was remember. Yeah, whatever. I can remember that a my local debate. Smith's. They have the front as you walked in the front gondola, which to all your listeners, that's that's That's what they called the actual rack at the front of the store. The whole front of the gondola was just racked with 2008 days. That's incredible. You never get it. Now I can be the next day at school, everybody just talking about it because they wanna bought it. And for years I had I saw had my I still got it somewhere. My first issue, and I have still got the original space spin of the red space. Wow. But my bloody dog chewed it. Oh, it's a real shame, but I think I'd like to cover to that. I think that that would be That would be if I couldn't have that. I probably tell I've got posted up on my wall. I would love to have the secret, the swordfish, the Hincapie, Jacobs, Blake and Mortimer. But okay, which was incredible. Spaceship flying. I don't know. Somehow that probably something Tintin Tintin? Because I loved him too. But I think maybe 2081st Jacqueline, stand up. It's really our comic funds. Could remember dip leisurely were when the boat key issues in their life. With that was ST Helens market for May. Well, remember seeming well and that was the issue. Three or four Adam Judge Dredd fighting a big robotic Arthur. Call me Kenneth. No, wasn't coming. Kennedy Giant? Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah. 11. Your doesn't love John Abe's. Well, that was a terrific run. That mean that, you know, the odds of the 2008 days you just every issue was an absolute joy. Oh, absolutely. You know that that was a fantastic comic. Remember the week old story you're arresting me to say with my speech impediment? Yeah. Believe me, Right, Something now writers don't seem to tell stories. It's critically improbably. It's that, you know, I always tell the writers when it went in there when I meet them, you know, they say I want to be a writer out there breaking out. They were right throwing small, but they will start for these massive epic. You know, I want to write a full 22 page. You know, it's an epic 10 year saga. You having any way that you know? Would you go Judge Dredd stories for Was it 45 pages hitting star? And absolutely, you know, it's like you've done enough of them. You know, that's how you that's for you. If you can write short and small than writing big and speaks best. Yeah, it's not a piece of it. If you start small and work your way up No. So we're gonna let you have a geek relates adopt. Yet this is going very quickly and I thought I would take this long. I mean, like, when you listen to it has been 20 minutes, 20 minutes. Just feels like we just don't know. It's like the good old days. Well, man, already there's a horrible days They were once separated. Remember for talking thio what they said that there was, too. What with Stuart and Jackie was my way, got separated at Marvel UK, crying too much fun in comics. Fun make comics also have Fan Yue's finds out what yet you've got some object to geek up geek lighted up once again it's It's behind you on the shelf. Can you see the bronze figuring? No, that's Doc Savage. Oh, so I was taking with me. But do you get that from? It's a single eBay. Okay, Most the history of it, though. That was the electoral, each other eyes. Anything special about, Yes, Anything special about it? Okay, so back in 1975 Doc Savage, who I absolutely want a great prima. What? Behind your little there There is the my post of doc's average, which is the arch enemy of evil, which I think is a brilliant tagline, Doc Savage. Hey, was probably stay. Was one. The very first pulps. He's the inspiration for Batman and Superman. They both ripped a massive ideas off him. Hey was the man of Bronze. Hey was the world's most intelligent human being, and he had a team of five super minded people. He's better than everything that I always thought Larry's, that they were experts in their own field. So that being a lawyer, that be a chemistry, be an engineer. But he was always better than all of them. But I also was a bit you know, Frankie. Anyway, Doc Savage. I love him. So in 75 George Powers, Last Joe's produce an amazing American Embassy. Sainted things like Water Worlds collide. A fantastic science fiction producer. And he did Butch bottoms Glacial. So his last film was was Doc Savage starring the one and only one Ely. Yeah, it was a Belgian. Yes, yes. So 25 docks, charismatic ones came out and I saw it. I thought it was the most amazing film I'd ever seen in my wrecking your life on then I don't care what you say it is. Okay, But anyone who wants to doubt that we'll have a fight next. Time me up. Okay. Anyway, so that's and if I've done comes out, there's a film poster which I had for years on my wall. And then I discovered this figuring the statuette became a little box as well. Andi, I just had to have it, so I bought it. So I I've always wanted to get this, uh, Doc Savage bronze bust, and I am denied a Christmas time. I found it on eBay and they were going to sell it, and it would only have any cost I think it was. Was it £50 of month? Thio own it, but it would have taken two years to paid. How much was it was £500. Well, on it was limited edition on dhe I'm Denard. And in the end, I thought that you come. You can't justify that. So I didn't buy it, but I can't always hoped. One DOA stumble across it. So Dark Savages is a one of a character. So, yeah, I would take that That stupid little figurine because it means muses baby gifts to give you someone to talk to someone. Yes. If I can take him, I'll take one of my two Barnet men. You're up there. I'll do it right now. I found one of them in the closet. Just Christmas. Really? With them. It was in the closet with the meat. Come. But not the Dunder Me come the old 19 seventies Don't love me. Yeah, if you like. See if you play with cyborgs. Enemy? Yeah. Yeah. Confined side book. I think I stopped him for a long ranger. Oh, I I had a lone Ranger and my mind Let my Tom take I encased entirely masking tapes. They could be the mummy and I got the back of an old TV and it was a time machine and they would travel and have adventures in the betting that it was just the circuit board, naughty little valves and everything. Well, I've still got an actual Mandel that someone, not a 1,000,000 miles, were killed When I was working at marble. You killed it and left it on my desk when everything actually one coming, I can't remember. But I know I jokingly said it came back from the dead and you illustrated it with those bits of, like, balloons and stuff. So I think it's the only some of the action one in the world whenever, whenever it's going out with police told that's a marketing woman gave me. I've got some up. I remember my sister. I want it executed by firing squad on my sister's Barbie dolls. I had a really nice air rifle is a two to everyone from the telescopic stethoscope site, and I put against the wall I made a blindfold for and executed, but unfortunately, the pellet hit her right in the eye, right in the stomach, and then if you know that old Bobby does. They have these massive rubber bands and middle which keeps moving. So the force of the pellets broke the elastic band. So she literally so her arms and legs and body flew across the room. And it was like, Oh, shit, What? I've done that she she didn't see that happen. No, no, no. She was never so what it was I had to act to dress her in a trouser suit and stick her limbs in. Okay? And then I hit the door back in her room and say anything until so once you found it. And also the dog collapse in the hand. She knew that something happened to him, but she couldn't blame me for and she never found out hastily. Also, aces are killed. An extra man about it. Well, not really. Now what? Going back to comics is the one comic character you really wouldn't like to take on the spaceship? You tight made me take it to one type of coming. It's like if I wasn't especially when I was given that given this, obviously, I didn't give it any thought at all because I thought what stupid question. Honestly, this stupid. So I thought Black Bolt. Yeah, you conducted. But if you put me, the white raise voice could propel your rocket ship further along. Yeah. I don't think you're giving this waste a Guelph, especially. I thought you were trying to. You know, if you listen to, like, like Desert Island discs, there's there's there's never an attempt by by the instrument to actually give the person they're interviewing a chance to get off the island. You're there for good. That's true. So that you're not supposed to give me outweighs the office baseship. I did. Listen, I forget which musician itwas who said if he was on Desert Island discs when the asking what book you could take with him. You take hell together for Desert Island for Dom ish, but they wouldn't let you have it, would you? Because it was practical. So anyway, yes. Oh, a black bolt. Because the worst president special was because he had been talking, you know? You know, I was imagine April tax a lot. You can even touch. No, you can't. Did you ever see the Frank Freedom back? Fantastic. Four wolves to coming in from the eighties. It was great, but the best line. And it was the end word. There's all these people coming on, lost in the fantastic form. Everyone's laughing apart from that bolts. And then at the end, so much time together, is, comes over, makes a really bad joke. And black bolt titters destroys everything. You know, as they say in Ireland. In what? Birthday? In humans. Leave him. Humans live in humans. Humans. Why was your hand? You could say it again. What you call it what you got what you call the human immune in you. So that guarantee you the former Seinfeld in humans. So humans, you Thank you, humans. I get the Seinfeld dragon. I get it right. Okay. So, um, now, Second Bob, your question. I'm doing a job for you. I don't seem to you myself. So, David, tell me as a black bolt sounds like in a poorly personally thank you. Agree? David? Thank you. So who would you like to be? Honest? Yeah, Well, obviously it's gonna be galactus like a like to sign up. I always I always saw the blacks would be answered. He always comes across, is grumpy in hungry. You hungry? I could murder a planet at any date. And the devil? Why would you want another one? You know, come on. Relax. Just finishing a planet on our younger. You know, I just imagine what says once he doing between the the planet eating. He's traveled the universe looking for planets. Do it. What's he doing? These are eating plan. It's a good point. Well, I've always I've always wanted to write a proactive story, which is just hitting chilling, chilling out. What does he do when he's not using? Got his feet up on a movie. Watching films was Nunes. And then, you know, you have to put on that stupid address every time there is still the server. Turns out I'm back. Oh, God, it's you. I get the headdress on. So I just think that nobody's silver surfaces delivery 12 is absolutely very good. Yeah, liver. Yes, I like that. Silver delivery. That's nice idea. So there we are. Galactus I like to go with and in black bolt. Would terrible blood. Yeah, like this cost. You may. So, friends and family aside, is you drifting off into space? What did you miss most about swimming in the sea. Yeah. Yeah, Well, why not ritual When I read your questions, first of all, that's the right. That's the first right answer that took me, like, one second to think. So I was I was lucky that that last year I spent, I went on holding. I'm actually half Barbadian on. We went over my family, so my whole family went off My sister, We went sort celebrating life. Andi, I said to pet my wife that my ambition for the holy was that if I didn't go in the sea once every day for two weeks, I had waited at Holy. So every single day I was in the sea, did not miss did not miss a chance. There's one day while I think I spent probably six hours just ridiculously, that's all he did swim in the sea, just swimming underwater. I swim with turtles. I swam dire dive down my straight to turtle in the water. Um, never do that in a British wrinkle. Uh huh. But I did that. My son, he's fine with the right. He saw, right? Yeah. I'm gonna try and save up. All right. Don't think Yes, But you're so I would miss our missed the opportunity to swim in the sea. Swimming in the sea is for May. I have always loved water I've always loved wearing I truly adore. It's like flying and I find I find what I'm actually swimming. I can't believe people go pretty People go swimming now and they have waterproof air air friends and they listen to music while swimming. That's what. Yes, I mean, there's nothing like them. I mean, I have to put in earplugs so I don't get water maze. But it's that sense of tranquility. Then I find it so induces for thought processes last. Why swimming's one? The best exercise is you've got the meditation aspect on the exercise lover swim in the ocean but a beautiful princess Beer from side. Mr. Megan, C area quite moving. That is lovely. Oh, God bless you. Now what's happening? Cycle gun. Oh, uh, I'm currently I'm doing, um So I brought out. So if I brought up two editions of her comic sake grands comic capers, cavalcade, uh, which is reprints the stuff? Actually, actually, I get some reprinting that I've done two issues. I got enough for third issue. The wonderful David Lloyd just got in contact me. Asked me if I'd like to do uh, I do second rounds for his digital combinations with pastry treat. So he said to me, John, do I got to open spots would like Thio to part of a two page stories. So I'm thinking, Oh yeah, I won't join a psycho for while I was Actually, I did actually say I wasn't in a drawing of a cycle for this. She doesn't take a break from her, but in the meantime, I, um I've Bean doing the third issue off site Grand versus Our Secure and Versus is the one where she beats up current book characters or movie characters, says one page per character. So there's there's Bailey isn't easy. No talking, just a violent image of her kicking or punching people in the genitalia because that's funny. Really. OK, you are what is on being kicked in the balls. It's funny. Yeah, yeah, if you don't find that funny. So I'm like your third issue that I have done 20 joins. I'm now culling them, so I'm about six off next time. Working on is psycho versus Pinhead. Actually, my oh, my screen. You have to give us someone so we can put it on the Facebook page. Let me post the interview. See that you might do. I looked a Pepper Peak. So that's that psycho. This is Psycho, So I stopped. It's a picture of psycho ground hammering nails into pinhead. Hey is brilliant. Give these gag away, but it's fantastic. It's okay. Why is there a Rubik's Cube? Because I don't want to do that stupid little boxing that's like 20 pages. So this time around this issue, she's fighting things like people like the Silver Surfer, the big Pinhead. There's also Beatles when Moses got from daily estate. Still where every piece, that one. The Joker crimes. I don't have done so many a wolverine. This desk. I If I sound like I'm being arrogant, I'm no. But I keep thinking that was a funny well, over Enough. It was a funny one, but they always got great three bucket conventions. Yeah, next to you. Yeah, she's She's my best setting things. So I'm in this thing. I was friend. Amazing. I'm not I'm not a name, but I sell side grounds I don't believe every convention I'm doing. About 30 40 books of hers on people Come back and buy again and again. So I wonder what she'd like to be trapped within the special for me. Oh, God. So yeah, Interesting enough. You are. You're partially responsible for the resurgence. Is So if you know this. No. So was it back in 2000 and 11? Was it yet? We did this little bit of hope. Now the woods waiting. Well, that was Was that literally about two weeks before. Are you going contact my nephew Alfie. Alfie Girl. He got contacted with Hay. Said, Uncle, would you do me a cartoon for my school newspaper? And so I did a second round. I redid the reason The very first, like, damaged her standing on a pier chatting 159 109 109 Blake. Excuse me, madam. Be watching all day. You keep shouting at 109. Can you tell me why? And she grabs him. Jackson with Princess on did in 60 160. So I read it that for him. And I thought I was funny. I because I hadn't joined the comics that when I went. I stopped doing comics. And to the year 2000. I just ask you 1999. My daughter's born. I thought I'm not not doing chorus anymore, so I done to issues of David. Come on. Major stopped having a daughter. I didn't know when you have it. When you've had a child, drawing comics didn't matter anymore. And also, I I decided that I was going to be an animator, and I didn't. I thought, you know, I wanted escape from comics. And so I was off to the animated comics that was buy comics. God, Steven, man, I was anyhoo so I hadn't joined. I stopped join her as she went in a week when she first people that counts. When that stopped, I didn't draw again. So that ended in 87 so I'd stop drawing her on, endure again until first Alfie. And then you got in contact. Said I'm doing this little doing this book, you know, to be evolved. You sound Yeah, it's amazing. Race is gonna confuse deliciousness. Could confuse business. So you asked me to Dio Listen, I'm doing this book. It's Therese. The forms for the Japanese. It's okay it's okay. It's like do something And I said, You give ago and for somebody expected reason. Psycho important man. I thought I could do a psychic grand order versus Godzilla. And so I did a three page Godzilla psych around, and I thought, God, I love that It was great fun. So I just really enjoying some grand again. And I was just doing the mucking about, and then my boss, it works or saw him, and he laughed. He said, We'd like to publish those so tight and publisher digitally and they sold absolutely nothing. I made no money until I should know I lied made 70 pee out of it. So they did to issues of soft ground digitally if you could still buy an Amazon. If you want to buy this Italy on David Lloyd, go on contact when he's doing it's a week and said, Oh, we're doing this new comic. I'd really like you to be involved, I thought, but I actually thought that that's what I thought, but and I see that's really gonna confuse. Listeners will be going to It's on a little something happening with its name. Anyway, I realized RG so he ran again for him. So I assumed he got me confused with Gary leads because I thought, Why would David Lloyd want to be involved in May? On I met him and turned out the new cycle. Grams actually fan of Oh, wow, so easy being a great champion of her, He's being publishing everything I've done since then. So, yeah, keep George because I blame enough during her. She's such fun. She's so demented. I mean, just enough to write a little note to myself because initially trying to gentrify and it wasn't working. And I can't come with ideas of cute and I thought, This is working and in the end, she told me why she said, Psyche grand isn't cute. Okay, stop making me nice. And when I realized that when I I put present, we should stop making sack around nights, she's called Psychic around for a reason. It's a bit like the Flashman novels. The early Romans were great, but I know it's think near the end you come before Look, I liked him a bit, so he became nicer. I know that that's that's one of things I like to play with I've been. I've been experimenting recently with with horror and comedy, because I'm sure you know this. Having written for yourself is that the line between horror and comedy is very close. And so I did a story where where three men are trapped in the house and they spend weeks trying to find the exit when they finally they don't they end up stumbling into a room where she's having, uh, a book club with Kathy Liu and others, and that these three men who broke into a house there, actually the the refreshments and they get killed and eaten by one who has a straw, stuck up disasters, always intestines sucked out on it was absolutely horrific. I was actually quite shocked by how gruesome going it was really quite terrifying. And I was quite stunned at how dark had gone on strike. Think Oh God! And then I did a gag for the end of it, and it gag made me laugh. I realized that you can go completely horrific, but if you put a joke and makes you laugh, you didn't break the spell and then it's lovely. So that's what I've been experimenting with. But I've gone too far. Now pull back of it and go. Can I get back to what psycho? And used to be? Because nowadays, where she's been for kids, I sometimes worry that, you know, seeing an elder gold sucking simplex. That's after his drive his jaw. He reminds me of the first time I saw evil dead two at the cinema crowded cinema. No one knew it was supposed to be funny. Yeah. So the 1st 20 minutes, everyone was kind of shuffling about Sony. Ronnie chopped his hand off and start putting the box on. I think Mom's farewell to arms. Yes, everyone started laughing and the whole cinema just clicked. This brilliant cases fascinating. So, yes, so your your partner for her return. So it's great on. So yeah, that's what I want to get back. I have actually. So another comedy. Remember of mine, Mrs Davies create just going actually about Well, I'm actually started writing issue three s o. I just need to still find time to draw it. So when I finish this site of grand on the two seconds that his Lordship's yourself or I might get around to doing you see three I need you to make that really successful. So I've still got the original five copies only ever. Version. So maybe to sell it at some point. Finance my retirement. Yes. I always like that project. A piece of what it was. They went well, that one did. So the Fed was very stupid, and she could mention one song and bumper off first. You song. Okay, well, this is just one song, and it's gonna be psycho killer about talking heads from the 77 which is my absolute favorite song. I just love it. I was like, enough to see the talking heads performing 1982. I think it was at Wembley and it was the first concert ever being too. And it had a profound effect on me. I was moved to tears by Andi last year. I went to see David Byrne, a tow to to see him do his American utopia. And it was just Gloria said that he didn't do Thank you. Lose. Right, Michael Out? Yeah, on the book. This is getting another was trouble here because because I read all the time. I'm never without book. Every day I'm reading, but I just turned food books. I barely ever give many thoughts. So I was thinking that bumper can read more than the other students have read. More than either. One is a book called When Worlds Collide, which is a 1930 science fiction book by Really widely on Philip Riley Wiley and Cover the Other Guy's name. And it's It's an amazing book about the world hitting, you know, gliding enough to escape. I have read that Stopped film was originally a novel. I love that actually love it. Then the other book that I read that had a real profound effect on me when I was a kid was the world According to Garp, John 11 which ever leave me. I was deeply the other, but I've read more near the book. So those two is Stephen King's of Stand, which I've read at least three Louie three times all the different versions. I've read the two verse of the original version, and then the longer version, I think for the original last year. I think the long version is just too much water. Um, so and then I read recently read Catch 22 which I actually love. Then I read a stilt house. Why? Because I know that you're a wonderful what? Astonishing. But have you ever had Blue beard to beard? A highly recommended The mock autobiography of a writer of an artist. Okay, I used to hang out with Picasso like that. I don't know. We take him, Don't take any time, and it's gonna be a spook is amazing. I won't read it. Yeah, I will read that because I was very impressed. Vessel that That's good. Then any other book which had any rule profound effect on me was a Confederacy of dunces, which I absolutely love. So if I had to pick one of those books, I would probably go for something with pictures of naked girls in These are wanking. No, I think I think it has to be a natural novel. Then I think I'll go for world according to go. Okay, that's great. So we'll seal them up, sealing the space signature. Rocky off for Tina. Let Josh space. Uh, yeah, I love space. I I'm always I'm profoundly moved by meeting last year's wonderful cause office. It was the anniversary of the moon landing and profoundly moved by I genuine. Consider us reaching the moon to have bean the pinnacle of mankind, that what we achieve that will never be vested. And when you consider how we did it with the technology available and is one of things that that makes me so angry is that we have this ad if any of your listeners are actually believes that the moon landing was fake, then you can go f yourself with the stick sideways You changed over the chainsaw. The stick would be a chance was just speculation because you're idiots because the Dominion landings and what we cheat. There's no way that was great. You know, you know that there's some great There's a great reasons why it wasn't fate. Yeah, one his artifacts left on the freaking moon. You can see with telescopes on Earth to there's a fricking plant you can bounce lasers off. Okay, three. Okay. Over 10th 1000 people were involved in putting a man on the moon, so those 10,000 people were involved in the conspiracy. You're all idiots if you believe that on finally every single inch of the way. That mission was followed by the Japanese. A jet the Chinese and the Russians again. They followed it. Do you think for one second that if they have been fate, they wouldn't have got shot? You know, But I will. I will. I will give you one thing. So I am open to the idea that when they got back from landing on the moon, he looked at the photos. It was like, You dickhead, You put your some of the lens. Yeah. So I don't mind, considering that the idea that they might have to have faith, Um, the photos of the landing. Yeah, but no. We went to develop its deep into thinking, but we live in an age of stupid every did area, as as Donald Trump provides on Boyce wants. And the fact that we just left Europe, which I think is the most stupid thing we've ever done is a nation not the most one of the most. Yes. Why is up there never talked. Really? Yes, I I love space. I absolutely love it. I think I'd love the tranquility of it right there. What? We got mad as well. Yeah, I'm not stalking sounds for four weeks now. Yeah, David, book is like family A few months. I've just shown the star It's a great skull. 34 stitches. Staples. So, yeah, I would love to be in space. I would treat I've always said to my wife that I want to be free is driving them undead my day. I wanna be freezed right in a position of surprise while pointing on then jets and in a large defeat back into space. Any planet. You want a girl, too. Now what we do this when I get Your Eminence on should be finished with your latest rain is you're a There's already guesses isn't guessing I'm not. No, no thanks for, you know, thank you very much. It's really a trip into the ground and on your witness.
